Dr Debbie Long has worked as a nurse in paediatric intensive care for almost 20 years. During this time she has seen a paradigm shift from pure survival to improving long term functional outcomes. Debbie’s program of research actively explores the consequences of intensive care treatment through healthcare- and patient-centred meaningful outcomes, including delirium, PTSD and neurodevelopmental outcomes in children, and impact on families. Debbie is also actively involved with ACCCN and the ANZICS Paediatric Study Group.
