Brian Rosenfeld, M.D., an Intensive Care Specialist whose vision and entrepreneurial drive brought to market remote intensive care unit technology and care delivery. He co-founded VISICU Inc. in 1998 and served as its Executive VP and Chief Medical Officer. He was instrumental in the successful IPO of VISICU in 2006 and subsequent acquisition by Royal Philips in 2008; he is currently responsible for devising and implementing the strategic direction of telehealth within Philips. Prior to founding VISICU, Dr. Rosenfeld was an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery and Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. There he was Director of two critical care units and received the Shannon Award from the NIH for his research. He has published over fifty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Rosenfeld graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1980 and then trained in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, anesthesiology, and critical care. During his anesthesiology and critical care fellowship at Johns Hopkins, he was selected as chief resident.
