Associate Professor Tom Buckley is a registered nurse and academic at the University of Sydney where he currently fulfils the role of Postgraduate Coordinator (Research). Tom has a strong research interest in the impact of critical illness and hospitalisation on patients and their families. He is currently conducting studies investigating strategies to reduce the impact of bereavement on spouses and parents of deceased as well as evaluating the impact of hospitalisation, including admission to ICU, on relatives own health risk. Tom is a current editor with Australian Critical Care and Chair of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Nurse Practitioner Accreditation Committee.
