Speakers: • Dr Jim Blum • Cheryl Hiddleson • Dr Brian Rosenfield Emory Healthcare, based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers an innovative model of providing remote critical care for patients in ICU. Using the newest technology and evolving methodology, critical care intensivists teamed with critical care nurses work in partnership with bedside physicians and nurses in order to provide round-the-clock monitoring from a centralized location with rapid deteriorisation detection and intervention.The Emory eICU service provides patients with continuous, proactive monitoring in a hub-and-spoke operational model with remote intensivists and nurses alerted to every aspect of a patient’s condition from an overarching dashboard perspective. This eICU program covers approximately 150 patients across 5 hospitals with varying patient demographics and hospital geographies.Join us for a virtual tour of the Emory eICU where we will discuss the “what, how and why” of remote critical care as well as the expected and unexpected outcomes of eICU including the sociological dynamics and patient relationships with the remote eICU team
