Biography

Dr Hugh Davies has over twenty five years’ clinical experience in the area of critical care nursing and has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed publications on the topics of acute kidney injury and the use of continuous renal replacement therapy. In 2005 he was the recipient of the Helen Bailey research scholarship awarded by the Health Department of Western Australia for his PhD on CRRT, and was awarded the Nursing Scholarship Prize after presenting his findings at the 31st Australian & New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting on Intensive Care 2006. More recently in 2013 he was awarded a Clinician Research Fellowship by the Raine Medical Research Foundation and the Health Department of WA to undertake Post-Doctoral research. His current work has also been recognised when he was awarded Best Poster Prize at the 40th Australian & New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting on Intensive Care 2015. Dr Davies is currently a Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, School of Nursing and Midwifery and holds an adjunct position at Royal Perth Hospital.
